Satan’s Fall – Destination Destruction Review

There are albums that simply are love at first sight, or better, at first listening. I’m the kind of guy that values a lot vocal abilities. So, albums with competent vocalist that know how to stand out from the crowd in many ways attract me a lot. Truth be told that’s not the first band’s effort I review. When I reviewed Satan’s Fall 2020’s album “Final Day” I got very impressed with the band’s ability to make it emotional – just the way I love my Metal. When I hear a song as “Swines For Slaughter” stories come to my mind in a kind of cinematic way as the trigger to hidden memories. First band that comes to mind is Accept – the band that made my teens bearable. And, of course, many others. It’s a movie I’ve seen lots of times, but everytime I watch it emotions come around.

No, “Destination Destruction” isn’t the album which will turn Metal history upside down making it a revolution. I don’t expect that from any band because I think it’s a burden that has the power to destroy bands – and it has. Sometimes, I guess we require too much from the bands we love. They’re only human. Ok, there are attitudes we don’t bear, but always remember they are only human. Sings and songs will never change it alone as the lyrics of “We’re Stars” told in the year of 1986.

“Destination Destruction” is fun, so much fun. It doesn’t go very farther from its predecessor. The spirit is all here with very few changes. From where I’m standing that’s great. When I hear the initial guitar riff of “Afterglow” my heart goes wild. I heard it so many times, but each time I hear it again it’s a total mess with my fragile heart after all “I’ve got tonight…”

Listen to “Destination Destruction” with an open mind. Do not, I repeat, do not expect a groundbreaker album. Metal can for the fun, onlu for the fun. I’ll repeat the words I finished Satan’s Fall last review “Destination Destruction” is an album for those who still believe the NWOBHM has many to say. I do. That’s it. By the way, there is always the unexpected. Go right to the band’s cover of “Go Go Power Rangers (Power Rangers Song).” As I said, fun, just fun.

I’ll nominate it just because…
