This is really the case of a very unique and sick album to review. I admit it’s not really the kind of album we review here, but I also admit I was taken by the guts by the music found in Facetaker “Tales Untold.” Truth be told – always – I’ll recommend my dear child of the night to skip “Love Was Made for All of Us” because I’m sure my Metal Addicts’ readers won’t like it same as I didn’t. The way I see it, track is totally out of the intent of the album which is a crazed and sickened mix of Old School Heavy Metal with Industrial Metal with some dashes of Death Metal. Too sweetened and pop for a persona that pass a dark image as Facetaker do. Therefore, if I may, go right to “Nightmares,” a track that summarizes the band perfectly. On the other hand, seeing it as an experimental song, a recession and a parody of today’s mainstream poop that the media foists on us as good it’s something to pay close attention. By the way, the song was taken from “Thirteen Mirrors of Future,” which wasn’t officially released yet.
My dear fan used to European bands as Lordi and Death SS might get perfectly what I mean. A demented alter ego of someone who’s been through some kind of extreme trauma and got deranged. Mostly, from where I’m standing, the same as what happened to the person of Batman’s The Joker as a Metal band leader – Facetaker here is The Joker. The music, though, has a strong trance and techno grip than their aforementioned peers being much more Industrial Metal as I would like. Tracks as “Death Can Dance” showcases perfectly what I’ve been telling. The electronic effects take over the song up to my limit, however, the contrast with the thick guitars made my mind. “Grey Future” had the effect on me. In this very especific case, I think the opaque sound of the guitars receive a great complement from the mesmerizing keyboards lines. Somehow they give exactly the idea Facetaker desire.
The general mood of the album is of a party that somehow went wrong or, received some uninvited guests that took over and gave it the sick and deranged. It works fine for me. Even this isn’t exactly the kind of music I’d listen in my free I have to admit that some tracks as “Sweetheart” and “Blonde Feather” do work well with strong and singalong chorus and decent guitars. A highlight to the bass lines which do a great job here giving the tracks the extra heavyness required in a Metal song.

I’m just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don’t accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it’s a life changing oportunity!
