Spiders From Saigon are a studio based hard rock band based from the north east of England. The band unashamedly wears its love of classic rock and metal on it’s sleeve and focuses on big riffs and catchy hooks for every track.
The band is made of 3 core members: David, Luke and Matt and then features various guest solos and performances by other north east musicians we love – notably Kev Smith (Lords of Ruin) provides the blazing guitar solos on several tracks. Formerly in groove metal band Hellion Rising, the band spent 5 years gigging around the UK appearing at various festivals & support slots and earned a reputation for high energy live performances, however it became clear that the simple fun of making music was being lost.
Spiders From Saigon were created with a simple goal – strip everything back to its core and focus on just making music and having fun! A glance at our social media will also be noticeable for a lack of band pictures as we want to let the music stand for itself.
Completely independent, the band write, record, produce and release everything themselves and plan on releasing a new single every month (until Covid put this plan on hold). With a myriad of influences (metal, rap, pop, EDM) even the band can’t predict what will creep into future tracks.
With their debut self titled album released in January 2021, SFS present a statement of intent: we love riffs and we hope you do too!
